My Vote

As an American citizen I think it is important to vote in the election. If you don't vote in the election you can't express how you feel to the rest of the people. What if they was a tie for the presidents and you didn't vote. And then the president that you hated won the election. Then you would start to think that you should of voted and maybe the president you liked would of got president. I think voting is a privilege so I don't see why you wouldn't vote if you had the chance to.

Yes I realize that the presidential election was a year ago, but I did not vote. I didn't vote because I was not old enough. But if I was old enough I would of voted. If I had the change to vote I would of voted for McCain just because I like his view on some things. I liked the way he wanted our country to be. I think he would of done a lot better than Obama, but that is just my opinion. Everyone else has there opinion and I have mine.

Character

Have you ever heard of character counts? People think of character as the six pillars which are: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. They use these six pillars of character to guide young children’s thoughts, words, actions, and habits they learn about character. It is good for young children to lean about character because it is an important thing in life. You use character or so many things I don’t think we could live without it.

You can describe character as many things. I think character is who we really are. Character is what we do when no on is looking because when people are looking you put on an act to try to impress people. And character is who you really are inside. Some example of character are self-control, flexibility, creativity, and many others. Self-control is when you reject wrong desires and do what is right. Flexibility is willingly to change plans or ideas without getting upset. Creativity is approaching a need, a task, or an idea from a new perspective.

So therefore character is used in many things in our life. It is used in games, the friends we have, books we read, words we hear, music we hear, the television we watch, and many other things. Character is there for us all the time but it isn’t used by us all the time. Although we know some people don’t use character we know that everyone is capable of using character. Life would be better off if everyone had the six pillars of character

Downloading Music

I admit I have downloaded music before but I do not make it a habitat. I did it because I didn't have the money to buy Cd's. I also have an Ipod and a mp3 player now so it is easier to put my music on there. I know that it is wrong to download music so I stopped doing it. I never realized how much trouble you can get in for downloading music but I realized it is illegal.

I know a lot of teens download music because it is so convenient. They do it so they don't have to pay the price for music because Cd's can become very expensive. Also if you like only one song on a Cd isn't it just so much easier to download it instead of buying the whole Cd's and only listening to one song.

I know downloading music is bad and you can get into trouble with the law for doing it but it doesn't bother very many people. People seem to think they will never get caught which I think that in the future downloading music will get so popular they are going to have to start catching people.

Me and Music

I remember when my favorite artist went to jail. A lot of his fans were so shocked that T.I. went to jail for having a gun on him. He knew he did something wrong so he didn't try to flee the cops and just served the time in jail. He can on the new and told his fans he was sorry for the bad choices he has made. He served one year in jail and then he got out. He had an episode on MTV that told listeners everything that had happened to him through out his life and even about him going to jail. A lot of fans were mad at him and he didn't make anymore songs while he was in jail.

As I was a senior in high school a lot of people listened to rap and hip hop music. It was the new thing and everyone liked it. Teens like listening to this kind of music because they think it makes then look cool. We listened to artists like Lil wayne, T.I., Usher, 50 Cent, Ciara, Lady Gaga, Eminem, and so many more.

A lot of older generations don't like this kind of music because of all the violence and swearing it uses. They think that everyone should listen to their music but they need to realize that we are in a different generation and we do things differently. The older generations didn't have music with sex, swearing, drugs, violence, and other bad things like the music we listen to.

My mom didn't mind the music I listened to. She let me pick because she thought I was old enough to make my own choices and decisions. She also listened to some of the same songs I did and she didn't mind it. I remember watching all the music videos and wishing I could go to their concerts, but I knew I wouldn't be able to.

When I look back at my teen years I realize that the music I enjoyed was worth listening to. I couldn't imagine listening to anything else because I really enjoyed rap and hip hop music. Also I have thought that every generation has their own feelings about music and the music people listen to changes from generation to generation. I wonder what my children will listen to when they are a teenager.
